{"product_id":"1925-gibson-l-3-archtop-guitar-used-26042","title":"1925 Gibson L-3 Archtop Guitar - Used","description":"Gibson's L-3 models were fairly popular before the first world war but few were made as late as this one. The serial number and FON suggest this guitar was built in 1925. The neck shape, though, and headstock inlay look like they date from the mid-1930s so we’re assuming the guitar was returned to Gibson for a new neck. Which in this case is a good thing because the necks on these little guitars were real clubs but this one has a comfortable V-shape that will be familiar to those of you who have played mid-1930s L-00s. And it has an adjustable truss rod, which the earlier ones didn’t. The tuners are Golden Age Restoration and the ebony bridge has also been replaced. The tailpiece, however, is original and it’s the nickel-plated version that turned up in gold on 16-inch L-5s. Includes the original chipboard case which is in very scruffy condition.
