The combination gives this one better tone, and the lateral (ladder) bracing  gives it  that classic LG-1 sound.\r\u003cbr\u003eThe other remarkable thing about this LG-0 is the condition, which is about as close to new-old-stock as you'll find in a 55 year-old guitar.  No fret wear, the only pick\/finger scratches are to the pickguard, and even the original plush-lined chipboard case shows few signs of handling, and original Gibson hang tags are in the accessory pocket.
