Details
The Parker Fly was designed by Ken Parker and Larry Fishman, and was first produced in 1993. The Deluxe came in a variety of wood configurations and this example has a poplar body and a basswood neck. The back of the guitar and the neck are encased in a carbon fibre/glass/epoxy composite material that provides the guitar with strength and rigidity, as well as increasing the guitar's sustain.
One of Ken Parker's primary goals was to build a guitar with less mass than a traditional electric guitar but with the same or even more rigidity. The magnetic pickups were custom wound by DiMarzio and the piezo bridge pickup was designed by Larry Fishman. The bridge is Parker's proprietary aluminum design with a single spring vibrato. The tuners are locking Sperzels.
This particular Fly Deluxe was made in 1999 and it is in fine structural and cosmetic condition but it does have a number of minor scuffs, nicks and dings. The frets are in fine shape and show almost no wear. Includes the original hard case and tremolo arm. The original Y-cable that allows you to run the piezo pickup and humbuckers into separate amps is missing but any new Y-cable will do the job.
